Motor Transport Workers General Union and Industry Representatives Visit Foshan to Explore Hydrogen Energy Industry

Industry representatives and the Hong Kong Motor Transport Workers General Union travelled to Foshan to gain in-depth insights into the development of new energy technologies.

The first stop was the Nanhai Hydrogen Energy Centre in Foshan. As a major showcase for the domestic hydrogen industry, the centre provided members with a detailed overview of the entire supply chain, from production and storage to transportation and applications. Following this, the delegation visited the Hyden Hydrogen Refuelling Station. Through professional briefings, members gained a better understanding of refuelling workflows and safety management protocols. The group also discussed the feasibility of popularising hydrogen infrastructure within urban public transport systems. The itinerary concluded with a visit to Guangdong Horizon New Energy Technology Co. Members not only inspected the technical production details of hydrogen-powered trucks but also participated in a hands-on test drive. During the trial, the delegation spoke highly of the trucks' high efficiency, low noise levels, and zero-emission characteristics.

This exchange facilitated a deeper understanding of the hydrogen industry, refuelling equipment operations, and commercial hydrogen fuel cell vehicle technology. It enables the Hong Kong industry to better grasp the latest developments in new energy transport, providing a valuable reference for promoting green transit and cross-border cooperation. Together, these efforts support the transport industry's transition toward a low-carbon future.
